What is the difference between insulating bricks and refractory bricks?
The main differences between thermal insulation bricks and refractory bricks are as follows:
The main differences between thermal insulation bricks and refractory bricks are as follows:
1. Thermal insulation performance
Thermal conductivity of thermal insulation bricks is generally 0.2-0.4 (average temperature 350±25 ℃) w/m.k, while the thermal conductivity of refractory bricks in the 1.0 (average temperature 350±25 ℃) w/m.k or more, it can be concluded that the thermal insulation performance of thermal insulation bricks than the refractory bricks insulation performance is much better.
2. Refractoriness
The refractoriness of thermal insulation bricks is generally below 1400 degrees, while the refractoriness of refractory bricks is above 1400 degrees.
3.Density
Insulation bricks are generally lightweight insulation materials, density is generally 0.8-1.0g/cm3 while the density of refractory bricks are basically more than 2.0g/cm3.
Comprehensively speaking, the refractory bricks have high mechanical strength, long service life, and good chemical stability, no chemical reaction with the material and high temperature performance, the highest heat-resistant temperature can reach 1900 ℃. Particularly suitable for fertilizer plant high and low temperature conversion furnace, conversion furnace, hydrogenation converter, desulfurization tank and methanation furnace.
It disperses gas and liquid and supports, covers and protects the catalyst. It can also be used in the hot air furnace and heating conversion equipment in the iron and steel industry.
Refractory bricks have the advantages of high density, high strength, abrasion resistance, good corrosion resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion, high grinding efficiency, low noise, long service life, and non-staining materials. It is a high-quality grinding media adapted to various grinding machines.
Refractory bricks and insulation bricks are very different, their use of the environment, scope, role are not the same. Different locations will use different materials, in the purchase of materials, we should be based on their own actual situation, decide to use which refractory material is suitable for their use.
